My work has always been informed by the natural world.
My process often starts with walking, across moors, through forests and above coastlines, walking past inner landscapes of memory to find a place of healing and renewal.
That connection to place is important and constant and a source of great inspiration to my work. I strive to evoke a mood of a place, using bold sweeps of paint to communicate the vitality and energy of light, colour and shadow. My Monotype prints like my paintings are unique. I create gestural shapes in colour, layering them to build structures that form land, sea and sky.The process of making a print enables me to distil the information from my paintings to produce a different form of art and that in turn feeds back into my paintings.Education
